Gurkha's or Alien's

Last month Driving Force Logistics, a company which is recognised by the D/EE and the Overseas Labour Service, had been informed that there was a shortage of good HGV licensed drivers, after discussions with various users of Heavy Goods Vehicle's, major supermarkets and several others, they sent their operations manager to Katmandu to interview a number of ex-Gurkha soldiers who were previously with the British 10th Transport unit, all well trained and of good conduct.

On return to the UK the managing director of Driving Force Logistics applied to the D/EE for work permits on behalf of the Gurkha's who they knew he had interviewed.

The D/EE replied that the Gurkha's could not be granted work permits because a C=E license was not a professional qualification. It had cost £20,000 to travel to Katmandu and interview the various applicants.

Despite having reservations of discrimination, Mr. Collins the director of Driving Force Logistics was about to put the matter behind him, when a quirk of fate intervened which completely opened his eyes concerning what was going on in this country, showing how immigration was being abused and politically motivated. An advertisement arrived on his table from Thanet Social Services, who were asking for Packers and Pickers in Kent in which they were offering permits for Illegal Immigrants to work. Stunned by the fact that individual immigrants were being offered work permits, Mr. Collins contacted Thanet Social Services to find that, not only were Illegal Immigrants being given work permits, National Insurance Numbers were being issued so that the individuals could work to offset the draw on the public purse. (The first step to becoming a legal immigrant and dependant on the state).

Any national wishing to work in the UK are required to apply for a visa before leaving their own country of origin, yet illegal immigrants are issued with one immaterial of how they entered the country. The men of the 10th Gurkha transport must apply for a visa, to be able to work in a country, which they have served so well over the years.

The Government should stop this discrimination against the Gurkha's who have shown so much loyalty to this country, and treat then as former British service men, which is what they are.
