QUEEN & COUNTRY EXHIBITION - MIDDLESBOROUGH

The Art Fund, the UK's leading independent art charity, will mark the 6th anniversary of the Iraq invasion with the opening of Steve McQueen's Queen and Country at mima Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art. The work will be on display from Wednesday 18 March until Sunday 3 May 2009.

As one of more than 16,500 people to have signed the petition to see Steve McQueen's work realised as official postage stamps, we would like to thank you for your support. As you know,
Queen and Country commemorates British servicemen and women killed in Iraq. With the withdrawal of British troops likely to be completed by Summer 2009, The Art Fund continues to campaign for Royal Mail to issue the stamps.

If you have not already done so we hope that you are able to visit
Queen and Country while it is in Middlesbrough. Please do let your friends and family know about the petition that you have signed which can be found at www.artfund.org/queenandcountry

ALLIED SPECIAL FORCES MEMORIAL GROVE

Dear All,

The time has come for us all to go get on parade again. This time not on the drill square but at the Allied Special Forces Grove where on the 19th. July 2009 we will be commemorating those that lost their lives and those that fought at Mirbat 37 years ago.

Soldiers of 22 SAS, Dhofar Gendarmerie and Firqat forces were killed and injured in an epic battle.

So be on parade before 1230pm., or come and give a hand to set up. Any donations towards the cost of this event would be most welcome

Regards,

Mike Colton
