LEWIS WAR MEMORIAL

When even a few as nobly learn to live
As these have learned to die:
When we have learned our very least to give
As they, without a sigh,

Upon the altar of the cause of right
Their holiest offering laid:
Then may we say the end was worth the fight
And march into the future unafraid.

The Late Malcolm K. MacMillan, M.P.,

MP for the Western Isles during WW2 (From the Roll of Honour, Ness to Bernera, For King and Country, 1939 to 1945)
